Xenophon Nicholas Litras

Xenophon “Xeno” N. Litras, 86, passed away on September 10, 2026, in Banning, California. A celebration of his life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Banning Estates Clubhouse, 3800 W. Wilson Street, Banning, California.

Born and raised in San Bernardino, California, Xeno was the son of Nicholas J. and Marika N. Litras. A jeweler and gemologist, he owned several jewelry stores in the San Bernardino area and was known for his skill and his gift for fixing or figuring out almost anything. Endlessly curious about the world and how things worked, he approached life with enduring optimism, certain there was always a way forward. He also proudly served in the United States Army.

Xeno lived with integrity, kindness, and compassion. Determined and creative, he was generous with his time and talents and always willing to help someone in need. His Greek Orthodox upbringing and Greek heritage remained important to him throughout his life, and he was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge.

He loved golf, music, square and ballroom dancing, RV adventures with the Los Coyotes RV Club, and animals of all kinds—especially his dogs, Bruno and Goldie, and the many kitties he loved over the years. Above all, he loved his wife, Marilynn “Kay” Litras, with whom he shared more than 50 years of life and marriage.

Xeno is survived by his wife, Kay; his children, Karen Bishop, Kevin Bishop, Kirsten Bishop, and Marika Litras; and his grandchildren, AJ Nielson and Kendall Bishop. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James N. Litras; and his twin brother, Thomas N. Litras.
