MULLENS — Ada E. Cooper, 79, of Mullens, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Princeton Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. Ada was born July 14, 1936 at Herndon Hgts. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Clifford and Ethel Mae Hopkins Echols. She attended Black Eagle Baptist Church. She had a passion for gardening and loved family get-togethers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy; brothers, Junior Echols, Frank Echols and Jackson Echols; sisters, Madelon Ramey, Addie Boschain, Marie Warren and infant sister, Dorothy Echols. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, James E. Cooper Sr; son, James Cooper Jr. of Beaver; daughters, Cheryl McAllister of Mullens, Sheila Large and husband Rick of Itmann and Donna Cooper of Herndon; grandchildren, Kelli Vest, Kasey Raye, Matt McAllister, Brett Cooper and Landon Cooper; great-granddaughters, Hannah, Kate and Emerson, whom she adored; sister, Ellen Linaweaver of Parkside, Pa. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 12 noon at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Gilbert Dodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to March of Dimes or St. Jude’s.
