Mr. Allen Ray Moye Sr.

ALLEN RAY MOYE, SR. Allen Ray Moye, Sr. 77, of Crab Orchard, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021. Born January 22, 1944 in Glen White, WV; he was a son of the late O.L. Moye and the late Gracie Pack Moye. Allen was an avid Sportsman, loved spending time with his family and working with his John Deere. He was a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church and was a former manager at Gray Lumber Company for 45 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Moye, James Moye and Paul Moye. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Brenda Moye; a son, Allen Moye, Jr. and wife, Mary of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter, Nicole Bragg and husband, Tyler of Crab Orchard and the light of his life, his great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Bragg; a brother, David Moye of Charleston, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00PM Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Pastors David Bush and Mike Sisson officiating. Following the services Allen will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Craig Canaday, Mack Hatfield, Johnny Jones, Ted Maxey, Doug McDaniel, Rick Moye and Benny Jones will be serving as pallbearers. Charlie Thompson and D. B. Bailey will be serving as honorary pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Alan and I attended Woodrow Wilson and in same graduating class. I met him at Gray Lumber Co. many years after high school and he was still the same nice guy he was in high school.
