

Born May 6, 1926 in McComas, WV. Mr. Hodges served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a coal miner for 33 years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horse shoes and loved his family and friends dearly. He attended Cales Chapel of Coal City before becoming ill.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hodges; daughter, Regina Akers; brother, Hubert Hodges; sisters, Edna Akers and Myrtle Bolen.
Those left to cherish his memory include sons, Rick Hodges and wife Darlene of Beckley and Stephen Dewayne Hodges and wife Angela of Beckley; daughter, Drema Ellison and husband Rick of Coal City; sister, Virgie Scott of VA; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and special friends Golden and Pauline Wills.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 1pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Hylton officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Military graveside rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
