Alvin York Trent

Born March 23, 1949, in Simon WV, he was the son of the late Harry Merritt and Vivian Kathryn Humphrey Trent. Mr. Trent was a retired Registered Nurse from the Veterans Hospital in Huntington.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as having a love for guns and motorcycles.

Addition to his parents he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Mrs. Nancy Trent; and two brothers and a sister.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters; Susan Acord (Sam) of Beckley, Christi Copley (Darren) of Grandview and Misty Strow (Chris) of Scottown, OH; grandchildren, Zac Parks, Amanda Acord, Dakota Parks, Christopher Strow, Nicholas Strow, Andrew Strow and William Strow;

great-grandchildren, Kenna Parks, Oliver Parks and Arlo Parks; his siblings include Keith Trent (Tammy), Gayle Teaster (Marshall), Cheryl Lambert (Jerry), Sis Lewis (John) and Dwight Trent (Sandy); and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Black and Pastor Randy Mann officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
