Ms. Annie B. Sumpter

Annie enjoyed walking and going for long rides. She loved her animals, and most of all she loved her children.

In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Kenneth Sumpter; sons, Raymond and Barry Sumpter; brothers, Jerry Massey and Roland Massey; sister, Wanda Jenkins and 3 grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Ronald Sumpter and wife, Becky, Donnie Sumpter and wife, Brenda, Charles Sumpter and wife, Janice, Jerry Sumpter and wife, Tina; daughters, Joan Toney and husband, John, Sue Conley and husband, Charles, Vivian Gilkeson and husband, Butch; sisters, Pearl Manning and Mae Stone; 25 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Lum Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 1 – 2 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
