On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Arlena Rene Sears-Bailey, 57, gained her heavenly reward, joining her beloved husband, Richard Bailey, who passed away just three weeks earlier. Their devotion to one another was evident to all, and in honor of their enduring love, a joint Celebration of Life will be held.
Born November 2, 1968, in Charleston, West Virginia, Rene was the daughter of Russell and Sandra Sears. A devoted wife and mother, she was also a proud Christian and active member of the Glen White Church of God, where she especially enjoyed singing in the choir and treasured her church family as her own. Her gentle spirit and steadfast faith touched many lives.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Joshua Deweese; her brother, Eddie Sears and wife Teena; and her nieces and nephews: Paige Palmer (Grayson), Brian Turbeville, Alishia Austin (Christian), Seth Turbeville (Emily), and Cassidy Graham (Cameron).
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Melony Lester and her family for their loving support, to Connie Moore for her lifelong friendship, and to Hospice for the compassionate care shown to Arlena Rene.
A joint Celebration of Life for Rene and Richard will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Glen White Church of God with Bishop Jess Farley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia in her memory.
