Arnold David Acord, 61 of Lester went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2014. Born January 18, 1953, he was the son of Myrtle Richards Acord and the late Leonard Acord. Arnold loved playing and writing music. He also enjoyed working on cars and playing horseshoes. He attended the Lester Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy Acord of Lester; daughters, Judy Halsey and husband, Brian, Rachel Malone and husband Patrick, Anna Simpson and husband, Scott; sons, David Acord, Matt Asbury, Pete Graham, Jordan Maraman; brothers, Lawrence Richards, Leonard Acord, Rodney Acord, Jeff Acord; sisters, Stella Asbury and Wilma Ward, and many grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2014 at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia. Burial will follow at Acord Mt. Cemetery.
