Basil Ray Hawley, 80, of Glen Daniel, passed away, Saturday, December 19, 2015 following a short illness. He was the son of the late Basil Hawley and Ova Minnie McGinnis Hawley. He was born December 16, 1935 in Raleigh County, West Virginia. Basil was a United States Air Force veteran who proudly served in the Korean War. He was of the Methodist Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses, and camping. Basil was also a member of the Trap Hill Lions Club and cofounder of Trap Hill Fire Dept. In addition to his parents, those preceding him in death are his son, Charles Wilson Hawley and one brother. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Copeland Hawley of Glen Daniel; son, Phillip Hawley and wife Kim of Glen Daniel; daughter, Wanita Harvey and husband William of Crab Orchard; sisters, Florence Tolliver of Beckley and June Hedgecock of Bolt; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
