Bettie Jean Freeman

Bettie Jean (Auvil) Freeman of Beaver, WV went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2017. She attended First Baptist Church, Beaver. Bettie was born on September 22, 1923 in Blue Jay, WV. Bettie retired from Bellaire Ohio Hospital dietary. She loved making crochet blankets for family and friends. Bettie enjoyed spending time with her beloved poodle Ebony. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents Corbett and Mabel Tucker Freeman; one son, Johnny C. Meadows; two brothers, James “Jimmy” and Paul Freeman. She is survived by her two sons, David Meadows (Betty) of Georgia, Zeik Auvil of Wheeling; four daughters, Margaret Alice Mills (Robert) of Beaver, Beth Featherly of North Carolina, Tacy Balkcon (Michael) of Georgia and Zelda Kuthy of Wheeling; two brothers, Jacky Don Freeman (Phillis) of Maryland and Thomas E. Freeman (Mary Helen) of Maryland; two sisters, Mary Klaus (Jack) of Beaver and Elana Ann Elkins of Georgia; one sister in-law, Betty Freeman of Huntington; 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the care received from Rita Adkins, Judy Prince and Hospice of Southern WV.
