Brad Hurt II

Brad was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Thomas and father, Charles Hurt.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shawna Shockney; sister, Jill Adams (Terry) of Shady Spring; sister, Beth Johnson (Roger) of Beaver; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Scott Stanley of Oak Hill, and Linzie and Tyler Farmer of Beckley. Barbara Reed of Beckley, Melissa Sloan of Shady Spring and his best friend, Ezra Newman; plus two cherished pups, Marleigh and Thurmond.

Brad enjoyed golfing with his buddies and going on many beach trips with his wife.

Brad was an employee of Raleigh County Schools since 2011 where he was a cook at Daniels Elementary.

He was known throughout the school as everyone's "Uncle Brad".

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Raleigh General Hospital and the nursing staff of SICU, CAMC cancer center of Beckley and Access Health of Daniels.

No formal services will be held, but the family would love to invite you to a Celebration of Life on July 26th, 2025 from 4PM to 10PM at 306 Mount Tabor Road, Beckley, WV 25801.
