Brian Keith Blankenship

Brian Keith Blankenship, 42, of Prosperity, passed away June 2, 2016. He was the son of the late James Blankenship and Marie Lafferty Blankenship. Born June 15, 1973 in Welch, WV. Brian enjoyed Nascar and attended Freedom Ministries. He worked for SGS Minerals as a field services manager, and had been with the company for 17 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by infant sister, Becky Sue Blankenship; grandparents, John & Inez Blankenship, and Jesse & Margaret Lafferty. Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Karen Blankenship of Prosperity; step-daughters, Jennifer Dillon and husband Jeremy of Beaver and Renee Dodson and husband Robert of Prosperity; brother, Michael Blankenship of Oak Hill; sister, Joyce “Judy” Blankenship of VA; step-grandchildren, Matthew Dillon, Carleigh and River Dodson; special nephew, Tyler Blankenship; great nephew, Brodee Adams; special niece, Amee Murdock; special great-niece, Nadilee Murdock and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may gather with the family Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 6-9pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Phillip Farrington officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery with Doug Estep, Scott Thompson, Robert Dodson, Jeremy Dillon, Matthew Dillon, Tyler Blankenship, and River Dodson (honorary) serving as pallbearers.
