Carlos was born on September 21, 1930 at Montcoal, West Virginia. He was a miner for Eastern Associated Coal at Kopperston and later a millwright for Hammer Lumber Company at Edwight, West Virginia. He has faithfully attended the Bradley Free Will Baptist Church since June 1971 where he served as a deacon until his promotion. Carlos had great loves in his life: The Lord Jesus Christ; his family; and, the Bradley Free Will Baptist Church. His great desire was that everyone would have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and experience the Lord’s love as he had been blessed to receive as God’s gift.
Carlos was the son of Everett William “Uncle Daze” Peters and Bertha Massey Peters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Bessie Peters Lemon Allen; Ruby Peters Morris; and, Maudie Peters Pettrey: brothers: Howard Peters; Troy Peters; Claude Peters; Delbert Peters; and, his twin brother, Harless Peters.
Those left to cherish Carlos’ memory include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Louise Stone Peters of Beckley, West Virginia; daughter, Sherry Lynn Peters Tankersley (Terry) of Severn, Maryland; sons, Robert Wayne Peters (Patty) and Terry Lee Peters (Kay) of Beckley, West Virginia. Grandchildren: Stephen W. Peters (Ashlee) of Beckley; Tiffany Y. Peters Mounts (Adam) of Mount Hope, West Virginia; Andrea C. Peters Williams (Joe) of Beckley; Caitlin R. Peters Elswick (Patrick) of Beckley, and eight great-grandchildren.
As a family, we all wish to thank our Father for modeling Biblical example of providing spiritual leadership in the home and to his family. The results have led all his children and grandchildren to become followers of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
