

Charles Galon Plumley, age 89, of Beckley, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on May 1, 1931 in Tamroy, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest Plumley and Susan Martin Plumley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Plumley; his sisters, Ethel, Eileen and Margaret; and his brothers, Edward, Paul, Darrell, Glen and David. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Pat Seman and her husband, Paul, Martha Davidson, and Charlene Brewer and her husband, Jim; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; his sisters, Juanita, Nancy and Mary; his brothers, Henry and James; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Plumley was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He had a passion for fishing and hunting and loved gardening and “metal detecting.” He was a man of Baptist faith.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, December 28, 2020 in the Peace Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Craig Stevens officiating.
In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, those who attend the services are required proper facial coverings at all times.
