Coval Roy Pack, 92 years of age, of Abingdon, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Born on August 14, 1925 in Sprague, WV, he was the son of the late James Richard Pack and Marshu Calfee Pack.
Coval was musically inclined and loved to read. He loved and cherished his family and enjoyed working. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Company B, 38th Infantry. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. Mr. Pack was a machinist and a welder at Southern Industrial Marketers in Mabscott, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. Abrams Pack; daughter, Merilyn D. Cowan; and brothers and sisters, Arnold Pack, Madeline Plapas, Raynard Pack, Vernard Pack, and Virginia Kester.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna J. Allen and her husband, Jerry W. Allen, Marsha L. Wood, and Cov Pack; grandchildren, Cody Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, April Burnup, Donje Allen Putnam, Robert Allen and Chris Wood; great-grandchildren, Alexis Wood, Donovan Conner and Chandler Leach; sisters, Norma Richmond and Geneva Treadway; and special family friend, Debbie Cobb.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am-1:00 pm, Monday, April 16, 2018 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Jerry W. Allen giving the Eulogy.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Good Shepherd in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by Raleigh County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1601 Second Ave., Charleston, WV 25387.
