Daniel Myers

On January 19, 1952, Dan was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia, the son of the late George Alfred Myers and Betty June (Justice) Coleman. He attended Collins High School in Oak Hill before beginning a long and dedicated career in the foundry industry.

Dan worked for General Castings in Delaware for 35 years, where he served as a melt supervisor. He later worked for Kenton Iron Products and then Adalet Products in Cardington, where he retired.

On May 20, 2000, Dan married the love of his life, Terry L. (Lotte) Fleig, in Tennessee. Together, they shared 26 wonderful years of marriage before she recently preceded him in death on September 16, 2026.

Dan had a true appreciation for classic cars, especially his prized 1957 Chevy Bel Air. He took great pride in his home and yard, keeping everything neatly landscaped and meticulously striped. Each year, he enjoyed growing a large vegetable garden. Dan was also extremely handy and could work on just about anything. He was always tinkering with something. He and Terry enjoyed visiting Amish country together and making trips to West Virginia to visit Dan’s family.

Left to cherish Dan’s memory are his stepsons, Corey and Nick Fleig; his grandchildren, Makayla Chesnick-Miller, Leah Sammons, and Zeek Sammons; his siblings, Joyce (Charlie) Showalter, Gloria Poff, and Harold (Linda) Myers; and his dear friends, Donnie Smith and Vicki and James Morris

.

In addition to his beloved wife, Terry, and his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his children, Keith Myers and Kim Sammons; and his brother-in-law, Donald Poff.

A visitation to honor and celebrate the lives of Dan and Terry will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead.

Dan will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia.
