David R. Humphrey David R. Humphrey, 89, of Verona, VA, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. He was the son of the late William Ray Humphrey and Elizabeth Christian. Born September 12, 1926 in Pax, WV. He was a 1944 graduate of Pax High School and a 1952 graduate of Beckley College. He proudly served in the Army Air Corp in World War II. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Elizabeth R. Godby; brothers, Richard and Harold Humphrey. Those left to cherish his memory includes his wife, Faye L. Humphrey; son, Steven D. Humphrey of Capon Bridge, WV; daughter, Barbara (Stormy) Humphrey of Staunton, WV; three grandchild, four step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. Friends may gather with the family Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 10-11am at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016, 11am at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie McNeely officiating.
