John 5:24 – I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me, have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death unto life.
Born on April 6, 1944 in Corinne (Wyoming County), WV, he was the son of the late Frank O’Neal and Zola Smith O’Neal. He spent most of his life in Wyoming County, working on the Norfolk and Southern Railway. He retired from this job as a conductor.
David loved spending time with his family. He also liked to go fishing and hunting. He was an excellent mechanic, known locally for his many car skills.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Katherine Rose Gillispie O’Neal; one son, David O’Neal, Jr and wife, Laura; one grandson, Jordan of Troutman, NC. Also surviving are one brother, Sam O’Neal and wife, Sharlene of Corrine; one sister, Donna Cayton and husband, Wayne of Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Reverend Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan O’Neal, Bruce O’Neal, Greg Cook, Timmy Ashley, Dewayne Cook and Cliff Sparks.
In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.
