

Delbert Lee Bailey (84) of Beaver, West Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 24, 2015. Born December 5th, 1930, he was the son of the late Guy C. Bailey and Blanche R. Bailey. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U S Navy from 1948-52. Whether at home or on the job, Delbert loved to work. He was trained as a printer at the Nashville School of Printing before going to work at Beckley Newspapers Inc. for eighteen years. He also worked as a coal miner for both Affinity Mining and Lightfoot Mine for twenty years until he was forced to retire due to a heart condition. While not at work, Delbert made his home an ongoing project. He wore the shoes of a gardener, a mechanic, and a construction worker. Delbert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family. He adored his wife Reva. This was the year of their 60th wedding anniversary. His children describe him as a man of great character, integrity, joy, wit, and enormous generosity. Through the years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding trail bikes with his sons and took delight in time spent with his only daughter. His many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Those left to love and cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Reva. Sisters Noma Jean Aldridge, Gloria Moll, his children, Edwin Bailey, his wife Milindi, Guy Bailey, his wife Marsha, Kevin Bailey, Aleisa Moye, her husband Rick, Scott Bailey and his wife Amy. Grandchildren, Kelly Melton,Ricky Moye, Brent Moye, Zach Bailey, Lily Bailey, Catherine Moye, Benjamin Bailey, Evan Bailey, Alexander Bailey, Claire Bailey, Beckett Bailey and Henry Bailey and two great grandchildren, Sydney and Presley Melton.
