Dessie E. “Liddie” Thompson
Dessie Elizabeth Thompson, 79, of Lanark passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Born February 20, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Verlie Angle Redden.
Dessie enjoyed singing in church, nursing homes and singing for the Lord. Music was her service to the Lord. It was her joy in her life. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jack Thompson; sisters, June Martin, Goldie Jefferies, Fannie Jefferies; brothers, Bud Redden, Houston Redden, Clayton Redden and infant brother, Granville.
Those left to cherish her memory include nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 10, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Robert Ayers Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family Monday from 1 – 2 PM at the funeral home.
