Donald Ray Smith Sr.

Donald Ray Smith, Sr., 75 of Stanaford, passed away, Monday, December 21, 2015 following a short illness. Born January 26, 1940 in Richlands, Virginia, he was the son of the late Luther Smith and Mary Blankenship Smith. Donald served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed going to WVU football and basketball games and going to the beach. He loved being with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter. Preceding him in death are his parents, Luther Smith and Mary Blankenship Smith. Those left to cherish Donald’s memory is his wife of 50 years, Juanita Gill Smith; son, Donald Ray Smith, Jr. and wife Cindy of Pinch, West Virginia; granddaughter, Autumn Smith of Pinch; brothers-in-laws, Frank Price and wife Libby of Pinch, West Virginia and Ted Gill and wife Kitty of Martinez, Georgia and Clarence Gill of Stanaford; niece, Tammy Collins; nephews, John Price of Charleston and Rick Thompson of Concord, North Carolina. Friends may gather with the family at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 1-2 pm. A memorial services will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 2 pm.
