Dorothy Jennings

Dorothy Jane (Lilly) Jennings, 91, of China Grove NC and formerly of Beckley WV passed away on February 16, 2026. Dorothy was born at home on June 25, 1934 in Camp Creek WV. She grew up in the small community of Dunns WV and lived on Teel Road on Maxwell Hill in Beckley throughout her married life before relocating to NC to be close to her sons in 2007. She graduated from Spanishburg High School in 1953.

She was preceded in death by her husband Beverly Ray Jennings, parents Virgil and Eva Lilly, brother Russell (Elizabeth) Lilly, sisters Mary Louise (Burkey) Lilly and Patricia (Ralph) Farmer and brother-in-law Lanny Pyle.

She is survived by her loving sons Dennis (Christine) Jennings of Concord NC and Duane (Vickie) Jennings of China Grove NC; granddaughter Tiffany (Darell) Stilwell; great granddaughter Abby Stilwell; sisters Jessica Skelton and Linda Pyle; nieces and nephews Roger Lilly, Rebecca Lilly, Keith Lilly, Warren Lilly, Sarabeth Lilly, Greg Farmer, Nell Lilly, Heather Pyle-Bastunas and many great nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law Peggy Blevins.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley WV. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Memorial service at 1:00 PM with the burial immediately following at Blue Ridge Cemetery.
