Blue Ridge Funeral Home Beckley ELMER DAVID MULLINS Elmer David Mullins, 77, of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord Monday May 18, 2015. Born June 15, 1937, he is the son of Robert and Dora Collins Mullins. David enjoyed working with his hands, and he was an avid mechanic. He was a school bus driver for Raleigh County and worked 27 years with the Department of Transportation. He was a Deacon in the Coal City Baptist Church and attended Sprague Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Timothy David Mullins, and his brother, Robert L. Mullins Jr. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years, Gladie Alene McKinney Mullins, brother, Pete Mullins (Eva), grandson, Christopher Mullins and family, granddaughter, Kim West and family, a very special friend Ken Scott (Charlotte), and a host of nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of David will be held 2:30 PM Thursday May 21, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Fred Lovell officiating. Following the service David will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 1:30 PM Thursday May 21, 2015 until the time of the service.
