Elza Alvin Reed Elza Alvin Reed, 78, of Beckley formerly of Amigo, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. He was the son of the late Tiberius Reed and Emma Reed. Born October 6, 1938 in Amigo, West Virginia. Elza was a member of Pikeview Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed painting cars, gardening, woodworking and going to church. Elza cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two infant children, two great-grandchildren, four sisters and one brother. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Patsy Forbes Reed; children, Alvin Reed and wife Kim, Katherine Whitt and husband Dwayne, Leniece Cadle and companion Alvin Peters, Jody Reed and wife Tammy and Valerie Asbury; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Waldo Reed and wife June; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends especially Charles Cantley who was a long time family friend. Friends may gather with the family Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 2-4pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 4pm, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Brian White officiating.
