Mrs. Fay Coleman

Mrs. Fay Coleman, age 92, of Beckley, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Born in Sprague, West Virginia, Fay was the daughter of the late Harvey Pittman and Gertrude Garrison Pittman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wallace Coleman, sisters Margaret (Pittman) Ball and Reba (Pittman) Rapp, brother Danny Pittman, the father of her children, Howard Coleman and her best friend Ruby Furrow.

Fay deeply loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her son William describes her as a very strong woman, daughter Debra notes she was incredibly knowledgeable about family history and was a second mother to their childhood friends and their cousins. Daughter Becky describes her as "My best friend through everything." She loved to travel and see the world. She was sweet and gracious to everyone and a beautiful person inside and out.

She is survived by her daughters, DeborahSmith and Becky Coppola, as well her son William Coleman and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and great - great grandchildren, including 3 fifth generation family members.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Brother Scott Pittman officiating. Fay will then be laid to rest in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, West Virginia.
