
FRANK PALMER, JR. Frank Palmer, Jr. 93, of Beckley, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Bowers Hospice House at Beckley. Born June 12, 1921 at McComas, WV; he was the son of the late Frank and Katie Palmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert, Carl, Dale, Archie, and Ralph; two sisters, Hazel Crawford and Francis Brown. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corp at Neola, WV and a member of the National Guard, a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a retired Foreman for the City of Beckley, a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Beckley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Lucille Palmer; two sons, Charles Palmer and wife, Ruby of Beckley, and Randy Palmer and wife, Gail of Oakton, VA; three grandchildren, Amy McGuire and husband, Jason of Russell, KY, Emily Cassee and husband, Dave of Reston, VA, Erik Palmer and wife, Elisa of Potomac Mills, VA; six great grandchildren, Hayden, Ellie, Asher, Lucy, Jaklin, Shea; a sister, Margaret Farrish of Garden City, MI; a sister-in-law, Eva Freeman of Clarksville, TN; and many nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Frank Palmer, Jr will be held 2:00pm Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastors Mike Murdock, Ernie Calfee, and Doug Wall officiating. Following the services Frank will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Family and Friends will be serving as pallbearers.
