Ms. Geneva Ruth Grimes

In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack John George Grimes (1937-2008); sons, Jack G. Grimes, Jr.(1961-2011), Duane Edward Grimes, (1968-2014); sisters, Hallie Mae Ward (1933-2013), Francis Louise Richardson, and Virginia Dare Wheeler.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Gary Wayne Grimes and wife, Debbie Shaikh, David Ray Grimes and wife Rhonda, Woody Allen Grimes and wife Jennifer; sisters, Alice H. Bohannon, Linda Jones, Geraldine Cozart; brothers, Charley Wheeler, Gene Wheeler, Robert Wheeler, Roger Dale Wheeler, Donnie Wheeler; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a loved nephew, David R. Richardson, who has been her caregiver for the last 10 months of her illness and a loved neighbor, Frank Cochran, her friend and caregiver.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Bill Waddell officiating.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gary Grimes, David Grimes, Woody Grimes, Davie Richardson, Joseph Becker and Wayne “Slim” Meadows.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday from 2 – 3 PM at the funeral home.
