Hedra Ball Ball Wheatley

Hedra Yvonne Ball Wheatley, 73, of Glen Daniel, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 following a short battle with lung cancer. Born September 7, 1941 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Denven and Rube Thompson Ball. She was a very loving grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her love of homemade cooking! Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky and Jimmy Wheatley; daughter, Reitha Wheatley Smith; granddaughter, Misty Doss Griffith; brother, David Ball. Those left to cherish her memories include her son Freddie Dale of Glen Daniel; daughters Tanya and husband Robert Stollings of Neola, Roxana and husband Brett “Doodle” Combs of Glen Daniel; grandchildren, Thomas and wife Danielle of Huntington, Vicky Hager of Danville, Ricky Wheatley of Danville, Amanda Wheatley of Danville, Tasha and husband Michael Click of Stanaford, Joshua Epling of Beckley, Kristin and husband Will Massie of Turtle Creek, Tommy Hill of Danville, Tony Hill of Danville, Tabitha Hill of Danville, Patrick and Brandon Wheatley of Charleston, Cory and Colby Combs of Glen Daniel, Dalton Acord of Pax; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Freda and Gail Elswick of Camp Creek, Gloria and Larry Ellison of Turtle Creek, Judy and Lary Aschembrenner of Oregon, Ella and Gene Hager of Mud River, Rosemary and Ricky Atkins of Camp Creek; brothers, Ronald and Patricia Ball of Big Ugly, O’dll Ball of Big Ugly. Services will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Runyon officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
