

Helen K. Gardner, 94, of Beckley, WV, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Kyle G. and Dixie Bragg Cook of Mabscott, WV. Helen was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harlis M. Gardner, three sisters, Joy May and Lois Cook, Margaret Cales, brother-in-law Norman Woods and two great grandchildren. Helen was retired from Atlantic Research Corporation in Virginia where she was a quality inspector and worked on the electronics systems for the NASA shuttle. She also had the privilege of working on the creation of soundboards for country music stars such as Kenny Rogers. She enjoyed flower gardening and playing bingo, often giving her prizes to her friends. Helen dearly loved cats and dogs and provided a good home to many. She is survived by her daughter Regina Gardner Trollinger (Rev Joseph) of Williamsburg, VA, her sister Virginia Woods of Ormond Beach, FL, her brother Kyle C. Cook (Jo Ann), Huntington, WV, niece Dr. Cheryl Lynn Cook of Kentucky, four grandchildren, J. Douglas Trollinger, III (Julie), Teresa T. Robertson (Jeffrey), Matthew G. Trollinger (Nancy), Stephen P. Trollinger (Melissa), twelve great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren that she dearly loved. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 25, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Scott Dameron officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
