Helen Marie Nelson

Helen Marie Nelson, 92, of Daniels, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 following a long illness. She had been staying in Lutz, FL. under the care of her daughter Janice. Even though she will be sadly missed, she is safe in the arms of God. Born September 1, 1923 at Rainelle, she was the first of 9 children born to the late McKinley and Eunice Buckland Anderson Worley of Beaver, WV. Mrs. Nelson was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker and a retired school teacher. She taught at Sandyville Elementary and Gilmore Junior High School in Jackson Co. WV; Brooks Adair, Bradley Elementary and Daniels Elementary School, Raleigh Co. WV, retiring with 25 years of service. She was a member of Beaver Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence Nelson, in 2004; a son, Carlyn Ray Nelson, in 1959; 2 brothers Kenneth Garland "Andy" Anderson, and Glendon Ray Anderson; one sister, Nina Louise Anderson Runion. Survivors include her 4 daughters: Sharon Kay Hutchinson and her husband Craig of Chesapeake, Va.; Glenda Gaye Goedeke of Daniels, WV; and twin daughters Joanna Marie Ingram and her husband Richard of Lake City, Fl; Janice Faye Burnette and her husband Roger of Lutz, Fl. Three sisters: Edna Dates of Deltona,FL; Joyce Demitrious and her husband Jim of Staurt, FL; and Frances Hartsog of Beckley, WV. Two brothers Carl Anderson and wife Rosalie of Grandby, Colorado; and Roger Anderson and wife Pat of Geneva, FL. She has 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Services will be at 1:00pm Friday, November 6, 2015 in the chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Her Grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
