James Daniel “Danny” Bloxton, age 87, of Beckley and Dewitt, WV, passed away on February 16, 2018 in Beckley, WV. Born on July 27, 1930 in Glen Jean, WV, he was the son of the late James William Bloxton and Ruth Hester Smith Bloxton. He worked for C & O Railroad, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church and Red Star Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, James William Bloxton and Ruth Hester Smith Bloxton; sisters, Beulah Pennington, Juanita Bloxton and Betty Mae Bloxton; and brother, Vernor Alfred Bloxton and wife, Velma Lucille Christian Bloxton.
He is survived by his two sons, James D. Bloxton, II and wife, Ling, and David Bloxton and wife, Kelly Crow; daughter, Ruth Bloxton; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Friends may visit between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Parker officiating.
