Born to the late Edria “Shamrock” Elmo and Mable Daniels Carrico, Jimmy was a hardworking man who dedicated 28 years of his life to the coal mines. He was a man who enjoyed keeping busy and could often be found working on or fixing just about anything.
One of Jimmy's favorite places to be was Indian Meadows Campground, where he loved spending time at camp, riding around on his golf cart, and stopping to talk with the many friends he made along the way. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, good conversation, and the company of those around him. Above all, Jimmy leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby Carrico, Bill Carrico, Dixie Smith, Gloria D'Antoni, Donald Carrico, and Buddy Carrico.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Millette Carrico; his sisters, Sharon Adkins (Harold) of Florida and Wilda Perdue (Rodger) of Beckley; his son, Ed Carrico (Faith) of Rhodell; his daughters, Serina Halsey (Tom) of Hotchkiss and Renee Zilinski Blake (Chris) of Ghent; his grandchildren, Constance Knight (Stephen) of Oak Hill, Donovan Wilson of Rhodell, and Alexis and A.J. Zilinski of Ghent; and his two great-grandsons, Nathaniel and Mason Knight of Oak Hill.
Jimmy will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of tinkering and fixing things, and the friendships he made throughout his life. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside rites will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia, with Rev. Gary Eskins officiating.
