James Harve Gill

James Harve Gill, 90 of Beckley, passed away, Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He was the son of the late Fletcher Gill and Julia Altice Gill. Born July 30, 1925 in Stanaford, WV. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal and a rifleman. He served in WWII in the Pacific Area, received the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged March 4, 1946. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Hester McMillion Gill; brothers, Chapman Gill and Roy Gill; sisters, May Hornsby and Lorie Lawson; step-son, Robert “Bobbie” McClanahan. Those left to cherish his memory include step-son, William McClanahan, Sr. of Beckley; step-daughters, Rose Arthur of NC, Linda Suders of AL, Ann Hewlett of Stanaford, Barbara Williams of Stanaford and Deborah Ospino of Stanaford; sister, Elaine Kopec of Stanaford; nephew, Roger Gill of Mt. Hope. Friends may gather with the family Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 1-2pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor F.D.
