James Michael McClure, Jr., “Michael”, age 49, of Beckley, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at his home. Born on January 23, 1971 in Beckley, he was the son of Patricia Blankenship McClure and the late James Michael McClure, Sr.
Michael had a passion for running, weightlifting, exercising and playing the guitar. He worked in construction for Rock Solid Construction Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Beckley and loved studying the Bible.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Michael McClure, Sr. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Patricia Blankenship McClure; son, Roger McClure; daughters, Brooke Ashley McClure, Kayla Hayworth and Laycee McClure; his brother, Robert McClure and his wife, Nicole; and his nieces and nephews, A.J. McClure, Gage McClure, Sophie McClure, George McClure; Jed McClure, Luella McClure and Luke McClure.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Peace Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephew, A.J. McClure; and his cousins, Cam Kiser, Scott Eastridge, John Mark Adkins, David Meadows and Jerry Smith.
In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.
