Janet loved to cook, she took joy in feeding others, making sure no one was left hungry. She attended Skelton First Baptist Church and was also a proud member of the Rebekah’s Club. Most importantly she loved her children. She spent her life supporting and guiding them. Her kindness, strength, and wisdom will live on through them.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles H. Burgin, brothers Charles H. Lamb and David L. Lamb, son in-laws Darell Carter and Earl Wood, and grandchildren Brandy Cline and Jeremy Bishop.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother Harry G. Lamb of Tennessee, children Brenda (Wayne) Aaron of North Carolina, Joyce K. Carter of Beckley, West Virginia, and Myra A. Wood of Florida. Janet also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to thank Hilltop Nursing Center of Oakhill, West Virginia and Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 11:30am.
