Born on May 29th, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Chester Ward and Luella Cain Ward.
Janet spent her life devoted to her daughter, Terrah, and her two dogs, Precious and Angel, whom she loved dearly.
She attended Beckley United Pentecostal Church, where she was deeply involved.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Fortner; her daughter, Terrah; and siblings, Ralph Lee Ward Jr., Edith Lilly, Roxy Meadows, Chester Ward Jr., Garland Ward Sr., Franklin Ward, Bessie Ward Lilly, Francis Daniels, and Janet Ward.
Those left to cherish her memory include nephews, Garland Ward Jr., and James Lilly; nieces, Deborah Ward Carter and Bonnie Lilly Jones; as well as several great nephews and great nieces.
Funeral services for Janet will be on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at 5PM at the Beckley United Pentecostal Church, 2230 S. Kanawha St, Beckley at 5PM with Pastor Greg Hurley officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior.
