Born February 2nd, 1937, he was the son of the late John Canada and Idella Sizemore Canada.
From a humble background, Jimmy worked diligently to better himself and those around him.
One of Jimmy’s proudest moments is when he served in the U.S. Air Force.
After his service to his country, Jimmy spent the remainder of his working career as a Coal Miner, a job that demanded long hours and true grit; a challenge that Jimmy was certainly up to, fulfilling his duty faithfully and in doing so, providing for his most prized possession, his family.
In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed hunting, gardening, and spending time with his cherished family.
Jimmy was a member of the Saulsville Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by one brother, and one sister.
Those left to cherish the memory of Jimmy include his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Delores; a daughter, Sheri Massey of Lobelville, TN; a son, Mike Canada (Beth) of Durham, NC; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
There will be a visitation for Jimmy on Monday, June 17th, 2024 12pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. At 12:45PM we will travel to Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens to celebrate the life of Jimmy at a graveside service at 1PM with Pastor Michael Knotts officiating. Jimmy will then be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gideons or to the Saulsville Baptist Church.
