

JoAnn Mae Adkins, 76, of Mabscott, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital. Born on September 17, 1942 in Westerly, WV, she was the daughter of the late Opal David Coffman and Laura Skaggs Coffman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Coffman and Richard Coffman. She is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Ronald Adkins; daughters, Rhonda McMurray, Melissa Scripter and husband, Donald, and Andrea Adkins; grandchildren, Crystal Ellis, James Bolon and wife, Jessica, JoAnn Palmer and husband, Bobby, Mitchell Scripter, Ashley West and husband, Logan, Josh Sisk and Caleb Sisk; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Bailey and husband, Donald, and Helen Meadows; half-sister, Sherry Coffman; half-brother, Timothy Coffman; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
JoAnn was a member of Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and the outdoors. She loved being around water, especially the lake. She loved and cherished her grandkids who were the world to her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor George Wood officiating. Burial will follow the service in Tower Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
