Born on August 10, 1978, and raised along Coal River, Chris was named after his favorite uncle, John Clay. He was a hard-working, dependable man who dedicated much of his career to Marfork Coal and local mines before bringing his strong work ethic to Servpro.
Chris was a devoted family man whose deep bond with his loved ones formed the core of who he was. He found great joy fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, and watching sports. Nothing made Chris happier than bringing family together for cookouts and playing cornhole with his dad. Music held a special place in his heart; years after his brother Larry first taught him to play guitar, Chris proudly taught Larry how to play his favorite song, Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven.
Above all, Chris possessed a rare, selfless loyalty. He would do anything for his nieces Ashley and Cindy, and he kept pictures of his mom, dad, brother Larry, and nieces right on his pillow, a quiet testimony to what mattered most to him.
Chris was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Larry Glenn Davis Sr. and Susan Clay Davis.
His memory will be cherished forever by his brother, Larry Glenn Davis Jr., and his fiancé, Sondra Patrick; William and Sherry Harvey; his cousins Thomas Harvey and Justin Harvey, whom Chris loved dearly and always thought of them as brothers; his beloved nieces, Ashley Munchel and Cindy Davis; and a wide circle of extended family, close friends, and co-workers who cared for him deeply.
Chris will be remembered for his dedication, his generosity, and the timeless love he leaves behind in the hearts of all who knew him.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Monday, October 19th, 2026 from 7PM - 9PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
