Joyce Faye (Bailey) Smith Blaylock

Joyce Bailey Smith Blaylock, 63, of Jacksonville, NC., left this world to join her loved ones in Heaven on Monday, June 13, 2022, peacefully at her home. Joyce was born October 4, 1958 in Mullens, WV to the late Payton Bailey and Freda Graham Bailey.

She enjoyed watching crime shows on TV, caring for her animals, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce was a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother.

In addition to her parents, her brothers, William and Jerry Bailey; sisters, Barbara Shrewsbury and Ellen Stubbs; and her two beloved husbands, Herb Smith and Danny Blaylock, precede her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, David (Peggy) Bailey, Frank (Dreama) Bailey, and Wesley Bailey; children, Barbara and Dewayne Shumate, Kristel Wilkerson, and Lance Smith; grandchildren, Corey Shumate, Chelsea Shumate, Derrek Smith, Allie French, and JJ Wilkerson; and a great grandchild on the way. Those also left to cherish her memory include many nieces and nephews whom loved her dearly, and her beloved fur baby, Jazzy.

The family would like to thank Kristel for all of the care and devotion she provided for Joyce.

Funeral service will be held at Madeline Freewill Baptist Church (823 Devil Fork Road, Amigo, WV 25811) on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the church.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens – Beckley.
