

Karen Yvonne Teston, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026. Born on July 8, 1945, in Sophia, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Betty Thomas of Beckley, West Virginia.
Karen devoted more than 20 years to hospitality and food service, culminating in her role managing the cafeterias for the Moriarty School District in New Mexico, serving the elementary, middle, and high schools. Following her years with the school district, she worked for Walmart in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Beckley, West Virginia, retiring as a Ladies Clothing Display Specialist.
Karen was of a non-denominational Christian fellowship. She found joy in camping with her husband and family, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, and countless other crafts. She loved cooking for those she cared about and was especially known for making some of the best Mexican food around. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Ray Teston; her sons, Wade William, Walter Wayne, and Wayne William Riedemann; and her brothers, Darwin Lee, Adrian Dean, and Gary Wayne Thomas.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Wanda Wilds and husband Perry; stepchildren Dave Teston, Troy Teston and wife Kathy, Roy Teston, and Cheryl Creason and husband Nick; brothers Roger Thomas and wife Ruth, Arlie Thomas, Farrell Thomas, and Fred Thomas and wife Pat; sisters-in-law Dorothy, Sherri, and Tammy Thomas; grandchildren Jereme Kyle, Victoria, Devin, Joshua, Taylor, Bobby, Dennise, Jennifer, Dianne, Jeff, Jessica, Ashley and Robbie; multiple great-grandchildren and her beloved pet, Prince, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Karen was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A service celebrating Karen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, West Virginia. Friends and family are welcome to gather beginning at 1:30 p.m.
