In Mrs. Neely's working career she worked several places, but mostly with children at The Learning Tree, Montessori School and Retired from Shady Elementary School as a Teacher Aide for Special Needs Children after 12 years of service. She was a former member of the Women's VFW and Senior Citizens Member Club at Raleigh General Hospital. She sang with her husband in church and with her Daughter Connie in a couple of trios and also enjoyed singing with her Son, Johnny and other Daughter, Lisa and Daughter-In-Law Betty Neely. She had a beautiful voice, was in the Glee Club at her elementary school where she started singing at a young age. She used to sing on the radio with her older sister, Joyce Acord. She was a former member of the Senior Choir at the Family Worship Center and Senior Choir at The Beckley Church of God where she attended and was a member. She was an avid bowler, was on a bowling league for years. Mom loved being able to share the holidays with her family, having fun and dinner together, sharing Birthdays, shopping, laughing and having a good time. These are the times that we will miss most. Now is the time for reminiscing on all the good times we had together. Her memories will never fade from our minds and hearts. She was one of a kind, one of the sweetest and caring people we know and will be greatly missed by so many, especially by her Children, Grandchildren and Son-in-Law and Daughter-in-Law.
She was a rare Gem and would do anything for anyone in need if and when she could. She was a wonderful, precious Mother who always put others needs before her own. She had such a Golden and Giving Heart. Everyone she met just loved her. Our Beautiful Gem is now shining brightly without blemish adorned with her newly gained Angel Wings, and a Beautiful Smile on her Face. She endured and rose above so many Physical Challenges, but now she is free from all the stress, pain, depression and loneliness. She has now received her complete healing that she and we prayed for that was long overdue. She is happily rejoined in Heaven with Jesus, family and friends that have gone before her. We are looking forward to seeing her again in Heaven soon.
