Leal Gene Cole

Born December 31, 1941 in Lester, WV; he was a son of the late Lacy Franklin Cole and the late Daphine Miller Cole.

Leal loved hunting, camping, fishing, being an Ultralight Flight Instructor and talking to his friends. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a former Quality Control Supervisor at Peabody Coal Company.

In addition to his parents, Leal was preceded in death by a son, Clark James Cole and a brother, Richard Lee Cole.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Linda Lewis Cole of Glen Morgan; two daughters, Kathy Lynn Wood and Lora June McGhee both of Burlington, NC; two sons, Claude Ray Richards III and wife, Dianna of Daniels and Michael Scott Richards and wife, Nita of Middletown, DE; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Fuller and husband, John of Shady Spring and Mildred Cole of Beckley; extended family, and many great friends and neighbors.

Services to celebrate the life of Leal Gene Cole will be held 1:00PM Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Roger Tolliver officiating. Following the services, Leal will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather from 12:00PM until time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
