

Lendo was born July 16, 1929 in Egeria, WV. He was married to Virginia Price Polk on April 15, 1950. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. He loved reading his bible, visiting people in nursing homes where he preached the Gospel and pastored the Odd Community Church for several years. Lendo was a disabled coal miner and carpenter and enjoyed going four wheeling.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Polk; great-granddaughter, Skyler Dawn Taylor; brother, Samuel Polk; infant twin sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Virginia Polk; children, Melvin Polk of Midway, Sharon Milam and husband Randy of Beckley, and Barbara Dickens and husband Ralph of Sophia; daughter-in-law, Wilma Polk of Oakhill; grandchildren, Edward Polk and wife Crissy of Coal City, Michael Douglas Polk and wife Debra of Coal City, Pamela Wallace and husband Thomas of Crab Orchard, Brian Polk and wife Brittany of Cool Ridge, April and husband Jon Taylor of Fayetteville, Patricia Hobbs of Daniels and Crystal Rash of Hampstead, NC; great-grandchildren, Amber, Andrew, Christian and Katelyn Polk, Christian Dickens, Alexis and Jasper Rash, Tiffany Lilly and husband Dakota, Laura Daniels, Cole Taylor and Sarah and Alivia Polk; great-great-grand child, Caden Goddard.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 12-1pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 1pm, Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Bob Blankenship officiating.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Eddie Polk, Michael Gray, Ralph Dickens, Brian Polk, Jon Taylor and Randy Milam serving as pallbearers.
