Lillie June Scarbro

Lillie June Scarbro, 91 of Prosperity, was carried away by God’s best angels from Bowers Hospice House on Saturday, March 12, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Pettry and Anna Bradford Pettry. She was born June 2, 1924 in Naoma, West Virginia. June was beautifully gifted in music and spent many years ministering in song, playing her guitar. She loved cooking, spending time in her flower gardens, and cherished her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Scarbro and now reunited in eternal joy. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her beloved sons, James Cecil (Sonny) Scarbro and wife Kathy, Ricky Scarbro and wife Carrie; grandsons, Jamie Scarbro and wife Tina, Ricky Scarbro, Jr. and companion Kelsey, Jeff Scarbro and fiancé Miranda; granddaughters, Stacy Duncan and husband Sammy, Jennifer Wilson and husband Kelvin; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Taegan, Kendall, Kelvin III, and Cody. The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers, Brenda Heath for the past five years of wonderful loving care and daughter, Daphane Suddreth. Friends may gather with the family, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 11-12 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 12pm with Reverend Jerry Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Randy Wood, Merv Slaughter, Sammy Duncan, Jamie Scarbro, Jeff Scarbro and Timothy Forren as pallbearers.
