Linda was a born-again believer and a faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church where she attended with her husband, Butch. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved to prepare and cook big delicious meals for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Harless; sisters Geneva, Corina, and Norma.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 45 years, Grant C. Bailey; son John (Deanne) Bailey; daughter Kimberley (Roy) Harrison; son Ramey Bailey; daughter Shelley (Lacy) Bethel; grandchildren Danielle (Caleb) Newman, Michael Anthony Bailey, John Daniel Bailey, Dalton Bethel, and Hannah Harrison; sisters Lena Jones, Wanda Crouse, and Janet (Larry) Armstrong; brother Robert Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and church family who will miss her dearly.
Linda was an accomplished quilter, and she was featured in West Virginia South magazine for her hand-stitched quilts. She made many beautiful quilts that hung in the Charleston Culture Center, State Fair, Beckley Arts and Craft Festival, and the Hinton Water Festival where she won many best of shows, blue ribbons, and other awards.
Linda loved talking to and connecting with everyone and it showed through in her 10 years volunteering at the Beckley VA Medical Center. She was the first smiling face veterans and their families saw when they walked in the door. She enjoyed greeting them and making them feel welcome. She had a loving and caring spirit, and she will forever remain in our hearts.
