Luke McLindon Houck

October 8, 1950December 2, 2018

Luke McLindon Houck, 68, of Prosperity and formerly of Mabscott, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his home. Born on October 8, 1950 in Raleigh County, WV, he is the son of the late Baxter McLindon Houck and Helen Pearl Adams Houck.

Luke loved to hunt and fish and just over all enjoyed the outdoors. He was a hard worker who had a “heart of gold” who loved to help all those around him. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and previously worked for Piston Coal Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Baxter Monroe “Buddy” Houck and Dempsey Dean “Bimbo” Houck. He is survived by his brother, Wayne Houck; nieces and nephews, J.B. Houck, Melissa Houck, Patricia Riffe, Natasha Smith and Nick Houck; sister-in-law, Carol Houck; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Garden of Peace of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 456 Cranberry Dr., Beckley, WV 25801.
