

She was born on July 19, 1928 to the late Mary Weikle Bell and Charles E. Bell. She was a life long resident of WV having lived in Crab Orchard, WV for the past 78 years.
Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Snodgrass, Sr. and 2 sons, Kenneth Snodgrass, Jr. and Tracy Snodgrass. Also preceded in death by brothers James, George and Donald Bell, and sisters Mildred Bell, Doris Wyatt, Evelyn Lilly, Mary Ellison and Betty Ballard.
Madge was a long-time member of the Crab Orchard Church of the Brethren. Over the years she was active in her church teaching Sunday School classes and working on numerous projects with the ladies circle. Madge loved reading her well worn bible and attending church services. Her faith in God provided her with comfort and purpose and she inspired those around her to embrace kindness and compassion. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to all her family. She cherished every moment spent with family and was delighted to have family and friends visit. She loved reading, working puzzles and her adult coloring books. Madge enjoyed camping trips in her younger years and especially enjoyed going to Lake Sherwood in Greenbrier County, WV.
Our brother, Danny, took her for rides in the mountains and she would count all the deer and wildlife that they saw on their trips. Our brother, Danny, was her caregiver for years and our family will always remember the loving care and devotion that he gave to her over the years since our father passed away.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Madeline Gravely and husband Buddy of Charlotte, NC, sons Tom Snodgrass and wife Sherry of Charlotte, NC and Daniel Snodgrass and wife Melissa of Crab Orchard, and daughter in law Connie Snodgrass of Rock Hill SC, two sisters, Margaret Newman of Crab Orchard and Erma Vest of Shady Spring, a special neice, June Lee Ballard, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday September 26, 2024, at Beckley Church of God with Pastor Harold Newsome officiating.Family may call from 11:00am till 12:00pm. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
