Madeline Carol Ward of Beckley, WV, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2020 in Charleston, WV at the age of 74.

Madeline was born February 11, 1945 in Beckley, WV to the late John L. Hickman and Frieda E. Hall. She was a member of the Beckley Moose Lodge Women’s Chapter 52 since 1970 and enjoyed playing BINGO, watching sports and always put other first.

Madeline is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, William R. Ward; four children, Harold Ward of Beckley, WV, Richard Ward and wife Sonya of Grandview, WV, Kathy Ward of Beckley, WV, Wendy Stowers and husband Richard of Rock, WV; brother, Ronald Hickman of Palmira, NY; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Danny Winders officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.

Carol was always so kind to me every time I would see her either at the moose, a baby shower just whatever was going on she welcomed me and made me feel like family.. she was a good person and will be missed by many... my prayers are with the family.
