Marcie Yvonne McBride

Born to Ruby Jeanette Hawkins and James Earl Snipes in Maryland, it was there she would later meet the love of her live Paul McBride with whom she would eventually move to West Virginia and raise their two children. She loved being a mother and a homemaker, spending countless hours making sure the home was in order, the family was cared for and well fed from the vegetable garden that she tended. When her husband was still racing cars she loved to spend time going to the drag races wherever he was. More than anything she loved to spend time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Jeanette Hawkins and James Earl Snipes, a sister Drema Younaker, and 3 half-siblings on her dad’s side.

Left here to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years Paul McBride; their children Paul McBride Jr., and Michelle Walker (Kevin); five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers Jack and Rick; sister Tina; 4 half-siblings on her dad’s side; and many loved nieces and nephews.

A visitation service will be held Thursday April 2nd from 5pm-7pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. Funeral service will also be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Friday April 3rd at 1 pm with Pastor Vernon Sears officiating. Friends and family that are unable to attend the Thursday night visitation are invited to join the family for a brief visitation from 12pm to 1pm before the service on Friday.
